in the Seebachtal reopened its doors today. For many guests of Apartments Hohenberger and Mallnitz visitors, it’s a real fixture of their summer retreat in Mallnitz – a destination that combines a leisurely hike in the Hohe Tauern National Park with mountain hut culture.
Open daily in July & August
As you can see here, the Schwussnerhütte is open daily during the peak season in July and August of 2025. It is located in the heart of the Hohe Tauern National Park, nestled in the impressive scenery of the Seebachtal.
With regional delicacies, homemade pastries (our tip: Schwarzbeerschmarrn) and an airy terrace, the Schwussnerhütte is the perfect place to eat, take a deep breath and relax.

We spent a week in the apartments during our 2022 vacation. The apartments are renovated, clean, and in a cool local style. Great location, off the beaten path and in a really quiet place. Close to hiking trails, the swimming pool, and the local history museum. The owner made sure we had plenty to do. He gave us a lot of useful information about local events and attractions. We were really well taken care of. It’s also a good option to take the train to Bad Gastein to visit the thermal baths. A wonderful place! Additionally, there’s a GoPass system for skiers, so you can expect discounts.
