Winter in Mallnitz is not only known for its breathtaking nature and the many possibilities for a winter vacation, but also for its deep-rooted traditions. A special highlight is the Perchtenmania – a spectacular event that brings the old customs of the Krampus and Perchten to life in an impressive way.

Krampus run in Mallnitz - an experience full of mysticism

The Krampus parade is the highlight of Perchtenmania. With terrifying masks and elaborately designed costumes, the Krampuses parade through the streets of Mallnitz town center. The traditional spectacle is not only an experience for locals and guests, but also attracts numerous visitors every year who want to experience this ancient custom up close.

The next Krampus run as part of the Perchtenmania takes place today on Friday, December 27, 2024 . The spectacle starts at 19:30 in the center of Mallnitz (attention road closure with detour from 18:00 for motor vehicles) and offers visitors the opportunity to marvel at the impressive figures and their rituals.

The Tauernbad is open throughout the 2024/2025 winter season and offers ideal opportunities to unwind. Whether you swim in the indoor pool or relax in the soothing stone pine sauna – here you can let the impressions of the day sink in and recharge your batteries for new adventures.

You will find two Finnish saunas with a temperature of 90°C. In the herbal sauna at 60°C, your senses will be stimulated by various fragrances. You can also sweat in the steam bath at 40°C and very high humidity. In the infrared cabin, the heat also reaches the deeper layers of your skin. The scent of Swiss stone pine is relaxing and noticeably decelerating!
