With the new Teleworking Act, which has been in force since January 1, 2025, Austrians can now complete their professional tasks not only in the classic home office, but also at other freely selectable locations. The Teleworking Act 2025 extends the previous regulations on working from home. A winter’s day in Mallnitz often starts like this: bright blue skies, a crisp -4 degrees Celsius and perfectly groomed cross-country ski trails. That’s exactly what called me out into the wintry national park this morning – an invitation I couldn’t resist.
At 09:00, I was the first on the freshly groomed trail, which was prepared by the trail crew Mallnitz once again prepared to the highest standard. The entrance directly behind the Apartments Hohenberger makes it particularly easy to start your winter day right away.
Mallnitz normally offers around 25 kilometers of perfectly groomed natural snow trails, which offer ideal conditions for both classic cross-country skiers and skating fans. Today, 6 km are groomed. Especially the cooler Tauern Valley with its gentle ascents and spectacular views of the peaks of the Hohe Tauern National Park is a real highlight for all those who appreciate the combination of exercise and nature experience.
Another plus for guests of Apartments Hohenberger in winter 2025: Thanks to our cooperation with Alpine Pearls Mallnitz there is the possibility try out cross-country skiing for a day free of charge. Via the RESI app our guests receive a cross-country skiing day ticket as well as the complete cross-country skiing equipment from Wolligger Sports – skating or classic, just as you wish. If you are also looking for a professional introduction, you can book a taster course with the Mallnitz ski school at a reduced price.

Under the guidance of an experienced National Park Ranger, you will immerse yourself in the magic of a full moon night in the mountains.
The tour on January 15, 2025 is the first of three dates this winter. Take the opportunity to experience the wintry Tauern valley, the starry sky and mountains in the mystical light of the full moon. You will be accompanied by a national park ranger who will give you exciting insights into the winter world of the Hohe Tauern.
